TRAIL ALERTS AND CLOSURES

2/5/25: The demolition of White Stadium (on Section 2 of the Walking City Trail) has begun and it will be the first stage of a major renovation project. Temporary fencing has been placed around the stadium perimeter, making it impossible to walk directly alongside the building on the original WCT route. While you can still walk around the north side of the stadium, following the basic trajectory of the WCT, you will have to walk much closer to Playstead Road for the duration of the stadium renovation project. When the stadium is finished, a slight re-routing of this short WCT segment might happen, depending on how the footprint of the facility and any fencing has grown by then.

6/28/25: The development of new walking paths at Edgewater Greenway has initated the temporary closure of the greenway to foot visitors. The wait will be worth it, as the finished pathways will offer far easier access to these gnarled woodlands. But for now, the woods are inaccessible and Walking City Trail explorers must detour past Edgewater Greenway via Edgewater Drive and Mattakeeset Street.
